Step 5: Behavior Intervention Plan

Step 1: Utilize the FBA to develop a draft BIP
Step 2 carry out the BIP, if effective- schedule an IEP/ 504 meeting,
and amend the IEP/504.

Instructions: Identify the category below and review the directions below:

Selects one or two choices under each of the following categories contained within each BIP listed below:
  • Target Behaviors (no more than two at a time)
  • Objectives
  • Preventative Strategies
  • Positive Reinforcement
  • Consequences
  • Home Intervention Support

Another important component of this BIP process is the Review Schedule.  How frequently and how long will progress monitoring take place?  It is recommended that the BIP be evaluated every 6-8 weeks for success.
